New York State Assembly Office- Manhattan; Entry Level, Full-Time:
A New York State Assembly Member based in Manhattan is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a full-time Special Assistant for Community Relations.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Efficient and organized;
- Flexible schedule working evenings, and weekends as assigned;
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment;
- Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with others;
- Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner;
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google applications, and online marketing applications like Constant Contact.
- Education level: Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Managing and vetting the Assembly Member’s schedule.
- Fielding phone calls and providing intake for cases.
- Coordinating with various government agencies to assist with constituent issues.
- Attending and representing the office of the Assembly Member at community meetings.
- Maintaining a good working relationship with the Member, Chief of Staff, staff, and constituents.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
